Every song is a progress report from somewhere in the gap between who you are and who you're becoming.
A five-track EP about becoming yourself in a borrowed apartment in a city that isn't yours.
Life as an unfinished manuscript. Piano-driven, building from a whispered verse to an emotionally cracked chorus. "I'm almost somebody, just not yet."
Standing in the hallway between who you were and who you'll be. Fingerpicked acoustic guitar, soft brushed drums, a bridge that pulls the rug out. "I'm halfway out and halfway in — too far to turn around, too scared to begin."
Amsterdam at night. The canals that carry everything through. Felt piano meets fingerpicked guitar, water-like rhythm, a meditation on learning to let go in a city that doesn't hold what it carries. "Flows through the arches, under the bridges."
Her parents. But not directly — through objects, habits, the way she holds a coffee cup. A piano ballad about being full of furniture from people who don't live here anymore. "Maybe that's just what love is — the things people leave in you on their way through."
The arrival song. The one where she stops being almost-somebody and becomes somebody. Fingerpicked guitar opening up into a warm, released chorus. "The draft was the art and I'm keeping every line."
