Everything you need to write about Nora Keane. For press inquiries: press@norakeane.com
Nora Keane writes songs at her kitchen table, usually between 2 and 4 AM, usually with a cold cup of coffee next to her. The Irish-Dutch singer-songwriter makes confessional acoustic pop that feels like reading someone's diary — intimate, unpolished, and quietly devastating.
Raised in a small coastal town in West Cork before moving to Amsterdam at nineteen, Nora grew up on her mother's Joni Mitchell records and her older brother's indie rock playlists. She taught herself guitar on a second-hand nylon-string with a warped neck, which forced her to find melodies in the spaces where the instrument wouldn't cooperate.
Her songs live in the in-between: between who you were and who you'll be, between the draft and the final copy, between a goodbye and a hello. She writes about overthinking conversations, leaving doors unlocked behind you, and the quiet terror of becoming yourself.
Nora is currently writing her debut project, The Rough Draft EP, recording voice memos in her Amsterdam apartment while her downstairs neighbor occasionally bangs on the ceiling. She wouldn't have it any other way.
